It inhibits a reuptake of dopamine, but is a much stronger serotonin reuptake inhibitor. This has lead to various results in animal studies.

4Fluorococaine has the same potential as cocaine, but may be much more powerful as a result of the stronger reuptake of serotonin.

4Fluorococaine can therefor not be compared to CFT or 2′-hydroxy analogue salicylmethylecgonine
