This rare compound has little history of human usage. Some trip reports suggest it is inactive.

If it is active it likely has a similar effect profile to other pyrovalerone stimulants.3′,4′-trimethylene-α-Pyrrolidinobutiophenone (hydrochloride) is an analytical reference standard that is classified as a cathinone.

The physiological and toxicological properties of this compound are not known.
